On Monday, June 17, the Johns Creek City Council unanimously approved the appointment of Kimberly Greer as City Manager, the city’s highest administrative post.
Greer emerged as the top candidate for the position after a nationwide search that began in February when the city hired Developmental Associates, LLC, a firm specializing in the recruitment of municipal employees. The Mayor and Council identified Kimberly Greer as the final candidate to lead the city in management of strategic programs, teams, and services.
The appointment of Kimberly Greer as the City Manager represents an exciting milestone for Johns Creek,” said Mayor John Bradberry. “She is an experienced leader and has proven her ability to motivate and manage the staff team and advance the priorities of the Council. As demonstrated in our unanimous vote, the Council and I look forward to working with Mrs. Greer to continue to make Johns Creek the best community to live, raise a family, and do business.”
Greer has served as the Interim City Manager for the past seven months and prior to that served as Assistant City Manager since her arrival in 2014. Prior to Johns Creek, Kimberly served as the Assistant to the City Manager for the City of Dunwoody managing special projects. She attained a Master of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Georgia and is an active member of the Georgia City County Management Association and the International City County Management Association.
“I am both honored and privileged to continue to serve the residents, businesses, and visitors of Johns Creek,” said Kimberly Greer. “I look forward to continuing the great work we are doing, enhance our services, support our staff, encourage innovation, and stand by the values of our community.”
In her time with the City, Greer has worked with the City Council to implement their strategic priorities and with each of the City departments to advance and improve day-to-day operations and major initiatives such as place-making, adding new parks, improving the transportation network, financial planning, and public safety improvements.
