City of Johns Creek welcomes new Economic Development Director

The City of Johns Creek hired Kim Allonce to serve as Economic Development Director, responsible for overseeing the City's economic development activities, including business retention, entrepreneurship, and community placemaking.

“I am pleased to welcome Kim to the City of Johns Creek as our new Economic Development Director,” stated Interim City Manager Kimberly Greer. “We are excited about the fresh perspectives and energy he brings to our community and look forward to his contributions to our ongoing growth and success.”

In his new role, Allonce will lead Johns Creek’s efforts to promote economic growth and create job opportunities through a comprehensive development approach. His experience, vision, and commitment align perfectly with the goals of ensuring a vibrant and prosperous future for the Johns Creek community.

“I am thrilled to be joining the City of Johns Creek as its Economic Development Director,” said Allonce. “The Town Center project is a prime example of the City’s dedication to creating innovative development that brings a strong sense of place with smart business development. I am proud to be a part of the continued enhancement to the quality of life for the city’s residents, students, businesses, and visitors through purposeful and sustainable economic development.”

Allonce brings almost ten years of experience in community and economic development, most recently as the Director of Economic Development for the City of Stockbridge, GA. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. from the University of Central Florida. He received the Economic Development Leadership Award by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, the General Professional Development Scholarship award by the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC), and the Michael P. Hickey Scholarship award by the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute. Kim currently lives in Stone Mountain with his wife, Marthe, and enjoys cheering on Atlanta United and the Georgia Bulldogs.
