Where:

McGinnis Ferry Road at Medlock Bridge Road

Why:

Faster travel, less congestion

Who:

City of Johns Creek

When:

Engineering in 2021, Right-of-Way and Construction in 2022

Current Issues:

  • Traffic congestion at Medlock Bridge Road and McGinnis Ferry Road.
  • Critical intersection in North Fulton County and for feeding Johns Creek's economy.

Proposed Solution:

  • Add capacity to the intersection by adding a through lane northbound on Medlock Bridge (three thru lanes will allow more cars to cross McGinnis Ferry in each light cycle).
  • Medlock Bridge southbound is being improved by GDOT to restripe the right turn lane into a thru-right lane. The city previously made improvements to McGinnis Ferry.
  • Project cost: $800,000 (2021 estimate)
