About the City Clerk
The City Clerk provides support to the Mayor & City Council and maintains records such as Agendas & Minutes, ordinances, contracts, and more. The clerk works closely with Fulton County Elections in conducting Municipal Elections and serves as the qualifying officer for candidates seeking to run for elected office.
In April 2021, Allison Tarpley was appointed as City Clerk. She began her career in 2001 with the Planning & Development Department in Gwinnett County. She joined the City of Johns Creek Community Development Department in 2007 where she served for 10 years prior to transitioning to the Assistant City Clerk role for three years.
She is a native Georgian and attended Berry College where she earned a B.S. in Business Management. She received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government in 2018 and received her Master Municipal Clerk designation in 2021.
