Johns Creek City Council authorized a bond referendum for the potential funding of a performing arts center. The referendum will appear on the November 4, 2025 municipal election ballot.
The referendum provides Johns Creek residents with the opportunity to vote on the City’s issuance of general obligation bonds (not to exceed $40 million) to be used towards a future performing arts center.
“This referendum demonstrates the importance of this project and our desire to empower the residents to weigh in on the future of our community,” said Johns Creek Mayor John Bradberry.
If approved by a majority of voters, up to $40 million in bond funding would be used for the construction, installation, and equipping of a performing arts center and related parking and sidewalks. Specific designs and plans for the facility have not been completed but both cost estimates and detailed construction cost estimates were prepared. The conceptual plans anticipate an approximately 800-seat performance hall and a multi-purpose room to support both performances (for symphony, chorale, dance, theater, etc.) as well as community meetings, graduations, civic events, and other gatherings creating a true multi-purpose venue.
Additional information and educational materials on the bond referendum will be made available by the City in late July. This will be followed by an education and outreach campaign to inform and engage voters on the November ballot initiative.
