The City of Johns Creek received a Fulton County Citizens Commission on the Environment (FCCCE) Award for City staff’s implementation of sustainability initiatives and projects.

The award, presented to Mayor Pro Tem Dilip Tunki by Fulton County Government County Commissioner Bridget Thorne during the FCCCE’s Annual Award Ceremony this week, recognized the work of Johns Creek’s “Green Team,” comprised of City staff, for initiatives like recycling, waste reduction, green building and development, energy efficiency, tree canopy standards, and greenspace connectivity efforts.

A summary proclamation for all of this year’s winners was later presented at the Fulton County Commission meeting. Earlier this year, the City of Johns Creek was certified as a Green Community by the Atlanta Regional Commission.
