Johns Creek Adopts $80M Budget for Fiscal Year 2025

Johns Creek City Council approved a balanced $80 million General Fund budget Monday, Sept. 9 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, set to begin on Oct. 1.

The FY2025 Budget highlights the Council’s continued focus on the City’s strategic priorities. Public safety has and always will be one of the City’s top priorities. The newly adopted budget focuses on the Council’s commitment to the continued safety and security of the Johns Creek community.

The City is making additional investments to further secure our community with the addition of five new Police Department positions to include: two new crime suppression officers, one new criminal investigations division detective, one new intelligence officer, and one community-oriented police officer. The city will see the replacement of fourteen public safety vehicles scheduled for replacement. The FY2025 Budget also fully funds the construction of the new Fire Station #63 / Police South Substation to be located off Brumbelow Road.

“This budget advances the priorities of our community,” said Mayor John Bradberry. “The adopted budget continues our commitment to maintaining the highest level of public safety and moves several important recreation and transportation projects forward.”

Additional highlights for FY2025 include the expansion of parking at Cauley Creek Park, the relocation of the Animal Habitat at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve, the replacement of the baseball field quad lighting at Ocee Park, the continuation of the annual resurfacing efforts, and the replacement of essential lifesaving equipment used by the City’s Police and Fire Departments.

The FY2025 Budget was first presented in a Work Session on July 8, 2024. Discussion to finalize the details of the Budget took place as part of the Work Sessions on July 29 and Aug. 19, 2024. Public Hearings were held on July 29 and Sept. 9, 2024.

The budget documents and presentation are available on the City’s Budget webpage.
