Johns Creek renews Community Wildlife Habitat certification

The City of Johns Creek has renewed its certification as part of the Community Wildlife Habitat program through the National Wildlife Federation. In partnership with Johns Creek Beautification, the City successfully completed the recertification process by capturing and renewing the dedication to restore wildlife habitats in Johns Creek through habitat designations and community education and outreach efforts.

The City has a total of 227 Certified Wildlife Habitats across residential homes, neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and public spaces, which includes five new certification locations this year.

The National Wildlife Federation’s Community Wildlife Habitat program partners with communities to become healthier, sustainable, and more wildlife friendly. Community Wildlife Habitats garden and landscape with wildlife in mind, promote the use of native trees and plants, work to reduce or eliminate the use of pesticides and chemicals, and integrate wildlife-friendly practices into sustainability plans and park master plans.

Residents can certify their properties on the Certified Wildlife Habitat website or visit Johns Creek Beautification’s website.
