City to host building permit workshop

Are you looking to build a new deck this summer or renovate your home?

The City of Johns Creek Building Division will host a free workshop, “Building Permits: What Homeowners Need to Know,” on Thursday, May 30, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall, 11360 Lakefield Drive.

The workshop will provide information for residents who are planning home improvements projects, as well as information about building permits, hiring contractors, pros and cons of being a “homeowner contractor,” tips, and a Q&A session with Chief Building Official Sal Gaeta and division staff.

May is National Building Safety Month and the start of “Check Your Deck,” a deck safety awareness campaign by the North American Deck & Railing Association.
