Johns Creek named 2023 Tree City USA

The City achieved the recognition by meeting the program’s four requirements:

  • Staff dedicated toward the endeavor or maintaining the health of our trees
  • Having a tree care ordinance
  • Dedicating an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita
  • Hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation

“I am proud of our city for achieving this designation; when it comes to our community’s beauty and health, you can’t beat trees,” said Mayor John Bradberry.

The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.

City Council also recognized Georgia Arbor Day (Feb. 16) with a proclamation during its Feb. 12 meeting.
