Mayor John Bradberry, Mayor Pro Tem Stacy Skinner, and council members Dilip Tunki and Larry DiBiase joined members of the Recreation & Parks Advisory Committee, Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce, the Johns Creek Convention & Visitors Bureau, and representatives of the Hyatt Place Hotel for the groundbreaking ceremony on Sept. 22.
This project will create a trail connection from Medlock Bridge Rd to the interior of Creekside Park adjacent to the Hyatt Place Hotel.
The trail project amplifies the City’s commitment to pedestrian connectivity in the Town Center area. It’s also an opportunity for incorporating a healthy lifestyle and improved quality of life in our community, which is emerging as a leader in health, wellness, and innovation.
This trail connection project represents the first phase of Creekside Park construction. This trail project will be fully funded by available money from the City’s Tourism Product Development funds set aside for the project in partnership with the Convention and Visitors Bureau. Creekside Park is fully funded by the Fiscal Year 2024 budget.
Creekside Park reimagines and activates roughly 20 acres of existing City land in Town Center to include a constructed wetland area (within the existing south pond area) connected up to Creekside Park’s north pond (behind City Hall) by a 15’ wide trail. Additional elements surrounding the pond will include terraced seating, an amphitheater with a deck over the water, and a small playground.
The anticipated project construction completion for the Creekside Park Trail Connection will be in late December 2023.
