Ready for two musical worlds to collide alongside the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra?
Mark Wood, dubbed the “Eddie Van Halen of the Violin World” and Original String Master of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, will join the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra for an electrifying night of ultramodern sound on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Newtown Park! Listen to a lineup of rock and roll classics amplified by the Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra and Mark Wood’s electric violin.
Join us as we kickstart Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra’s new 2023 – 2024 season with this free concert that embodies the season title: “Unleashing the Power of Symphony.” You won’t want to miss this incredible performance!

The Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra (JCSO) is comprised of professional musicians from all around the greater Atlanta metro area. Its Maestro and founder, J. Wayne Baughman, has been a fixture on the Atlanta music scene for over thirty-five years. The members of the JCSO are committed to providing their audiences with the highest caliber of symphonic music.
Concerts are FREE, gates open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
For the final concert, the food trucks Hungry Hippo, Tres Jardines, King of Pops, and Tiff’s Treats. with their delicious treats will be on site. Cold beer and wine will be available for purchase.
This event is rain or shine! In the case of rain, attendees are welcome to bring umbrellas. No pop-up tents, please. If we experience lightning or severe weather, we may delay the start of the concert or evacuate if necessary.
