Update: Thursday, Jan. 9 at 3:45 p.m.

The City currently anticipates conducting pretreatment of roads beginning at approximately 5 a.m. tomorrow (Friday) morning. This ensures the sand/gravel mixture application won’t run off the roads due to vehicle movement or rain/sleet if the pre-treatment were to be applied too early. Crews will treat bridges, roads accessing Emory Johns Creek Hospital, City fire stations, and City Hall first.

The US National Weather Service Peachtree City Georgia has upgraded our area to a Winter Storm Warning from 7 a.m. Friday (Jan .10) to 7 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 11).

Reminder: City Offices (City Hall, Municipal Court, and Park Place) are closed Friday, Jan. 11.

The City of Johns Creek continues to monitor weather conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch in effect from 7 a.m. Friday to 7 a.m. to Saturday for portions of North Georgia where significant accumulations of snow and ice will lead to hazardous travel conditions and the potential for power outages.

The City’s public safety and public works teams will handle anticipated issues (fallen trees, power outages, and road clearing) from the winter storm. The City will monitor road conditions and treat areas as necessary.
