Johns Creek Police Community Services offers the Citizens Police Academy for an in-depth look at JCPD operations and the policies it follows in setting a high standard for community policing.
The academy meets one night a week for nine weeks, and includes classroom instruction (criminal investigations, internal affairs, narcotics, CSI, Community Services); demonstrations (K-9, SWAT, radKIDS®
); and practical exercises (traffic enforcement and firearms).
Open to all Johns Creek residents ages 21 and older who successfully pass the application process and a criminal history check, the JC Citizens Police Academy is limited to 25 people. The class fills up quickly and there's usually a waiting list.
