
In April 2021, Allison Tarpley was appointed as the City’s second clerk since incorporation. She began her career in 2001 with the Planning and Development Department in Gwinnett County. She joined the City of Johns Creek Community Development Department in 2007 where she served for ten years prior to transitioning to the clerk’s office role of Assistant City Clerk for the next three years. Most recently, she served as City Clerk for the City of Doraville before being appointed as City Clerk for Johns Creek.
She is a native Georgian who grew up in Duluth and attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia where she obtained a B.S. in Business Management. She received her Certified Municipal Clerk designation through the University of Georgia Carl Vinson Institute of Government in September 2018 and will receive her Master Municipal Clerk designation in September 2021.
