July is National Parks and Recreation Month, and the City is highlighting a different park each week.
Shakerag Park, 10945 Rogers Circle
The 66-acre Shakerag Park features several amenities for a variety of uses, including a 3.8 acre-lake, a new playground, three picnic shelters, a quarter-mile running track, three large multi-purpose athletic fields, and two miles of nature trails.
Three things to do at Shakerag Park
1. Play cricket on Sunday mornings.
2. Take a hike over a boardwalk and through some hardwood forests.
3. Go fishing at the lake for bluegill and bass.
Did you know?
The City partners with Fulton County Schools so that park patrons can use some ballfields and facilities that actually belong to Shakerag Elementary School and River Trail Middle School.
