Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation Expands CPR/AED Training
Gift from ValMark Financial Group supports purchase of additional training manikins
JOHNS CREEK, GA
– The Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation is expanding the City of Johns Creek’s community CPR/AED training with the purchase of 49 additional training and practice manikins. The Johns Creek Fire Department
has offered quarterly CPR/AED (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) / (automated external defibrillator) classes for years but has had to limit classes to 40 individuals due to the number of training/practice manikins. The donation of additional training and practice manikins will expand the group training and allow each student to have their own manikin for maximum practice time.
The additional training manikins were purchased by the Johns Creek Public Safety Foundation
, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that assists Johns Creek firefighters and police officers injured in the line of duty and supports their community outreach efforts such as the CPR/AED certification classes for the community.
The $3,200 purchase was made possible by a generous donation from ValMark Financial Group. ValMark Financial Group contributes ten percent of its pre-tax net income to a Global Gift Fund from which its member officers are eligible to submit grant requests.
“The Fire Department is honored by this gift and looks forward to expanding our CPR/AED training program to reach additional community members,” said Fire Chief Jeff Hogan. “We know that this gift has the potential to save lives as starting CPR before the arrival of emergency personnel and the use of AED machines can increase the chance of survival.”
Registration for the next CPR/AED training class will be posted to the City’s website (www.johnscreekga.gov) once the training manikins arrive.
