Transportation Services

Improving the City's transportation infrastructure is very important to the citizens of Johns Creek. Hence Transportation Services is dedicated to developing the best possible solutions to achieve this.

To find these solutions, Transportation Services:
  • develops and manages the engineering services of the Capital Improvement Program,
  • plans the transportation system,
  • coordinates with Community Development on plan review of site developments, and
  • manages and coordinates right-of-way activities and utility/right-of-way permitting.

Transportation Planning

transit vision thumbnail mapTransportation planning assesses the impact of growth and development on a community's transportation infrastructure through various plans and studies that provide and recommend solutions.

Transportation planners develop and manage short and long range projects that improve existing transportation systems and promote alternatives such as transit, car and vanpooling, multi-use trails and sidewalks. They also coordinate with local, regional and state planning agencies, and prepare grants to request funds for identified transportation improvement projects.

Mass Transit

GRTA provides coach transit service from/to Johns Creek and the Doraville MARTA train station, for further transfer to other areas of Metro-Atlanta including Atlanta/Hartsfield Airport. See locations and schedules for Xpress Route 408, to/from Johns Creek.
