Although Johns Creek does not own any utilities, Public Works is responsible for monitoring and issuing permits for work performed on City right-of-way by utility companies or others.
Those needing to work within right-of-way are required to obtain a right-of-way encroachment permit. Additional coordination with utility companies is necessary to relocate utilities due to proposed CIP improvements.

Per chapter 16, Sections 1-5 of the City Code, any person or company who needs to perform work within the right-of-way must first obtain a right-of-way encroachment permit. Failure to obtain the required permit may result in civil or criminal penalties.
