The Johns Creek Police Department is committed to upholding the highest standards of community policing in providing its Community Services.
We look forward to working closely with the citizens and businesses of this City as we begin and grow our Community Services in the belief that community involvement and support will be the key to our success.
Our first service is a Business Watch crime prevention and education program called SHIELD.
SHIELD
The Johns Creek Police Department's SHIELD Business Watch Program promotes a safer business community through education and crime prevention.
The SHIELD program is designed for business owners who want to prevent criminal activities and send a signal to potential criminal elements that they care about their community. There is no cost involved to participate in the program.
Here's how it works: in order to join the SHIELD program, all a Johns Creek business owner/manager has to do is provide essential Emergency Contact Information to the JCPD and make sure it kept up-to-date.
If a crime or incident involving a SHIELD member's business does occur, the JCPD will then have an efficient way of contacting the SHIELD member and advising them of the situation or providing information they may need.
Education
SHIELD offers FREE classes to educate business owners and employees on crime prevention and other safety issues. Some of the classes are in:- Robbery Prevention and Survival
- Burglary Prevention
- Security Assessment Survey
- Self Defense Classes
- Identity Theft Prevention
- Check and Credit Card Fraud Prevention
Benefits
- SHIELD stickers displayed in members' front windows signal to customers - and would-be criminals - that the business is trained and active in
- SHIELD provides a communications and networking link between neighboring businesses.
