Risk Watch, a comprehensive injury prevention program designed by the National Fire Protection Association, covers a variety of topics including fire and burn prevention, poisoning prevention, fall prevention, bike and pedestrian safety and water safety.

Throughout the school year, the Johns Creek Fire Department partnered with Abbotts Hill and Medlock Bridge elementary schools to demonstrate Risk Watch safety tips for students. Second-graders participated in interactive lessons with props, models and fire department equipment.

Johns Creek firefighters presented all of the second grade participants with a certificate of completion at the end of the school year. The program will return to the schools in the fall.
