Council member Liz Hausmann was elected in 2006 to the first Johns Creek City Council following her work as a Board Member of the Committee for Johns Creek (CJC), which spearheaded the city's grass roots incorporation movement.
Hausmann is an account executive with Southern Bank Equipment. She is a member of the GMA Legislative Policy Council and US Rep. Tom Price's Advisory Council.
She served on the Fulton County School Board (FCSB), the governing body of the Fulton County School system, from 2002 to 2006. In that capacity, she represented the 14 award-winning Johns Creek public elementary, middle and high schools, which consistently rank as some of the US' best public schools.
Hausmann was a member of the Governor's Children and Youth Coordinating Council and the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce (GNFCC) Board of Directors and is a graduate of the GNFCC's Leadership North Fulton Class of 2006.
A longtime active member of the Republican Party, Hausmann served as a delegate to the 2008 National Republican Convention and was an alternate for 2000 and 2004 National Republican Conventions. She was the Fulton County Republican Party Chairman from 2001-2002 and the former Vice Chairman of the Fulton County Board of Elections and Registrations.
Hausmann was also Legislative Director for the Citizens for New Milton County from 1998-2000, President of the River Farm Homeowner Association (HOA),co-chair of the Old Alabama Road Citizens Advisory Council and a member of the Fulton County Strategic Planning & Review Committee from 1998-2002.
A Georgia native and daughter of a public school teacher and Episcopal priest, she and her husband, Mike, have lived in the Autrey Mill area of Johns Creek for 14 years. They have two children and are members of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church.
