Johns Creek Fire Department patch

Johns Creek Fire Department

Until the launch of the Johns Creek Fire Department (JCFD) in 2008, fire and emergency protection services are currently provided to the City by the Fulton County Fire Department under an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA).

The first JCFD will be led by Fire Chief Joseph Daniels, who has already served many years in the Johns Creek community as a former Fulton County Battalion Chief. He has more than 25 years of professional firefighting experience in Metro-Atlanta.

“Our goal is to become an ‘All-Hazards Department,’” said Fire Chief Joseph Daniels. “We will strive to provide services in fire, EMS, disaster, technical rescue and hazardous materials.”

Seventy-eight firefighters and two administrators will make up the JCFD, housed at three fire stations (Station 8 - 3165 Old Alabama Road; Station 12 - 10265 Medlock Bridge Road; and Station 20 - 10925 Rogers Circle), which the City is purchasing from the County.

State-of-the-art fire equipment has been purchased with two ladder trucks, three engines and two transport-capable rescue vehicles.

“We want to provide advanced life capability on all seven apparatus, bringing top-end service for the Fire and EMS business to Johns Creek,” said Daniels.

Please note:  We have received a sufficient amount of applications for our remaining 73 Fire Fighter positions, and effective immediately the filing period has closed. Applications postmarked after July 3, 2008, will not be considered at this time for our new department. Please check back on our website for updates.
