Dan McCabe, Post 2

Council Member Dan McCabe, Post 2Council member Dan McCabe was elected to City Council following his work as Finance Chairman of the Committee for Johns Creek (CJC), the grass roots movement, which led to the city's incorporation in 2006.

McCabe's desire to serve the citizens of Johns Creek stems from his personal goal of wanting to create a municipality that doesn't suffer from the usual negative concepts associated with over-bloated governments.

"My goal is to create a culture of efficiency that pervades the entire city staff, so that the taxpayer dollars of Johns Creek residents and businesses are maximized to the fullest extent," says McCabe.

Not surprising then, that one of McCabe's favorite quotes comes from renowned economist Peter Drucker (1909-2005):

"The best way to predict the future is to create it."

Following his volunteer work with the CJC, McCabe ran for Post 2 of the City Council in order to "finish the job he had started."

"Helping start a city of some 60,000 people from scratch is a once in a lifetime opportunity," says McCabe. He was re-elected in 2007 to a four year term.

A native of Wall, New Jersey, McCabe moved to Atlanta in 1993 with Prudential Healthcare. He held various posts in provider relations, sales and contracting with Prudential before joining Sanofi Aventis in 1996.

He currently serves as District Sales Manager for Sanofi-Aventis Oncology, a manufacturer of chemotherapy products which target breast, lung, prostate and colorectal cancers.

McCabe holds a BS in Business from the Ballentine School of Business at the University of Rhode Island. He and his wife Kristin (his best friend) have two daughters, Lindsey and Riley.

He is a Circle R member of the Fulton County Republican Party and currently serves on the Susan Koman Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.
