
Approximately 230 professionals in municipal services, operations, fire and police comprise the City Staff of Johns Creek.
If you combined all the years of work experience of these professionals – in both public and private sectors – it would total nearly 3,500 years of knowledge, skills and talent working for the City.
More than 30 years of administration and management experience in the public and private sectors augments Buzz Boehm's role as Program Director, overseeing all services provided by CH2M Hill.
In his current position, Boehm draws upon his decision-making skills in finance, personnel management and operations to oversee the city's day-to-day operations.
As Deputy Administrator of Beaufort County, South Carolina (1996-2007), Boehm co-supervised the county's building codes, code enforcement, planning and zoning development, engineering, public works, capitol projects, tax incremental financing and parks and recreation.
His contributions in Beaufort, included a Capitol Improvement Plan, tax financing programs, Public Works Department reorganization and restructuring of the developmental review process as he helped managed the daily operations of 145 person support staff.
Boehm served more than 20 years in the US Marine Corps, seeing combat in Vietnam and rising to the rank of Lieut. Colonel.
He holds a BA in History from Marquette University and a MA in Personnel Management from Central Michigan University.
Abercrombie has worked in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the past 10 years with CH2M Hill Inc., handling a wide range of GIS projects, including Stormwater Utility for Georgia's DeKalb County and Clayton County Water Authority, Watershed Management Plans/Watershed Improvement Plans for Gwinnett County, Fulton County and Bartow County, as well as Wake County, North Carolina.
She also has several years experience working with military installations and their GIS, including Blount Island in Florida, Anniston Army Depot in Alabama and Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee.
Abercrombie joined Johns Creek in January 2007.
Woolums has been involved with the city since its incorporation in December 2006. He is responsible for all day to day Information Technology operations for the city, including hardware, software, telecommunications, and IT project management.
Prior to joining Johns Creek, he served as an Information Systems consultant during the incorporation and establishment of the City of Sandy Springs, as well as consulting on several Disaster Recovery, Emergency Management, and Information Systems projects throughout the United States for public sector firms.
