Capital Improvement Program

A Capital Improvement Program (CIP) is a multi-year plan that assesses capital facility needs in a city against its overall goals and objectives.

The CIP contains projects budgeted in the current fiscal year, as well as projects in subsequent years for which funding may not have been obtained or authorized.

Transportation

The Transportation Division of Public Works develops and updates the transportation system CIP projects, including:

  • Coordinating the program and its projects with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) and Fulton County.

  • Overseeing engineering and design to ensure objectives are met.

  • Incorporating environmental concerns such as historic resources, endangered species and habitats, and hydrology.

The Transportation CIP map shows the location of planned capital improvement transportation projects in the City.

This summer, construction is planned for the following projects:

Recreation & Parks

The Recreation & Parks Department is responsible for the development and implementation of the City's capital improvement Recreation & Parks projects, which include the creation of a Comprehensive Parks Master Plan, land acquisition and park improvements.
